- - Jami University at a Glance

  - Financial & Administrative Affairs
    - Based on the polices, rules and regulations of Ministry of Higher Education of Afghanistan, there are three main departments in Jami University administrative organizational structure, namely: administrative, academic and student affairs. The departments ensure that the administrative activities within Jami University run efficiently, by providing structure to other departments throughout the university. The Vice Chancellor for Finance and Administrative Affairs is one of the pillars of Jami university and is responsible for the management, direction, control and coordination of all administrative and financial activities of the university. The Vice Chancellor also establishes policies and procedures affecting long-range institutional plans and projects and oversees the division’s operating units.
  - Students Affairs
    - The Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs is the chief student affairs officer and reports directly to the Chancellor of Jami University. The Vice Chancellor for students’ affairs also serves as the chief adviser to the Chancellor as well as serves as the student advocate and provides the executive leadership and direction. The Student Affairs Office at Jami University is a student oriented administrative department dedicated to supporting and guiding all Jami University students.......
  - Vice-Chancellor for Research
    - The Vice-Chancellor's Office for Research plays a vital role in promoting a culture of research, producing knowledge, and managing publications, including preparing and printing books, journals, and brochures needed by the university.
Faculties
- - Medicine
    - Ministry of Higher Education licensed Medical Faculty in 2014. The medical faculty started its academic activities in spring, 2015 and admitted the first group of medical students. The faculty offers undergraduate degree and has almost 800 students now. The increasing tendency of volunteers to attend faculty of medicine and the big number of citizens visiting medical clinics show the significant importance of medical practice and the need for specialists in this field.
  - Law and Political Science
    - The two disciplines of Law and Political Science are intrinsically linked and directly impact every aspect of our daily lives. As a student of law and political science, you learn about laws - what they are, how they work and how they change – in their broader political context. As well as learning the skills of a lawyer, you learn the skills of a social scientist. The Law and Political Science degree trains students to be self-motivated, ethically aware and critically reflective citizens. If your career or intellectual interests lie in politics and public service, you will be greatly strengthened by knowledge of the law. If you are interested in pursuing a legal career, your study of law will be informed by a wider political understanding. Either way, the Law and Political Science degree may be the course for you.
  - Engineering
    - The Faculty of Civil Engineering as its primary goal seeks to offer and maintain a high quality undergraduate civil engineering education consistent with the present and future needs of a profession serving an increasingly complex technological society. Civil engineers conceive, design, build, supervise, operate, construct and maintain infrastructure projects and systems in the public and private sector, including roads, buildings, airports, tunnels, dams, bridges, and systems for water supply and sewage treatment. Many civil engineers work in planning, design, construction, research, and education.
  - Economics & Management
    - Economics is a social science that deals with the production, distribution, and consumption of goods and services and it also deals with how societies use scarce resources to produce valuable commodities and distribute them among different people. Behind this definition are two key ideas in economics: that goods are scarce and that society must use its resources efficiently. Indeed, economics is an important subject because of the fact of scarcity and the desire for efficiency.
  - Islamic Studies
    - The Faculty of Islamic Studies is one of the most important educational centers at the universities of the Islamic World Which plays a significant role in educating the youth and the new generation of the Ummah in all Islamic countries. The religion of Islam begins with the command of "Iqra", and there are many verses in the Holy Qur'an that highlight the importance of education in human life and Allah Almighty has been introduced as the first human teacher in this great and holy book.
  - Agriculture & Agronomic
    - Jami University aims to impart a technical education in Agriculture and related areas. The university creates, integrates, & shares knowledge to meet the objectives. The main goal of the faculty of agriculture is to develop, expand and promote agriculture in Afghanistan. As a first step, the faculty of agriculture established the department of agronomy and then it will establish the departments of gardening, livestock, soil science, irrigation, natural resources and environment, plant protection and veterinary in order to maintain a leadership role in the pursuit of knowledge through relevant and quality research, teaching, training for sustainable development, consultancy and outreach and to contribute to increased human resources, agricultural productivity, agri-business development, poverty reduction, and food security using environmentally sustainable technologies and have skills in participatory approach to conservation and utilization of natural resources with the view to enhancing rural development.

- - Quality Assurance
    - The Quality Assurance takes the leadership and initiative in the institutional quality assurance of the university. The goal of the Committee is to promote quality assurance, planning and evaluating the quality of the activities of the university through the assessment and providing appropriate strategies and suggestions, and helping to plan for quality improvement.
  - Policy & Plan
    - Academic policy and planning committee Examines, formulates, and reviews long-term and short-term academic planning and develops and implements strategies for academic program sustainability and structure. The committee is mainly responsible for coordinating the development, implementation and monitoring of policy and strategy across the University and for supporting the University’s governance framework.
  - Order & Discipline
    - Education is a fundamental process of human life. Therefore, in education ethics and discipline have a very important and effective role. Today, ethics has an important place in all areas of life. Ethics in education helps regulate the education system and ensures that this practice positively contributes towards human welfare. The purpose of ethics is to define acceptable human behavior through knowing the types of actions, its consequences, and the limits of both humans and actions, as well as their acceptability.
  - Cultural
    - Culture is one of the main pillars of development and sustenance of communities and no society can progress in its absence. It is important for nation building. Culture is the essential part of the human’s society and it is our way of life. It includes our values, beliefs, customs, languages and traditions. Culture is reflected in our history, in our heritage and in how we express ideas and creativity.
  - Exams
    - Exams are very important. Many students are studying because of exams. Through exam, students can know their knowledge. ... And exams have the major role in providing necessary qualities in life such as hard work, patience, creativeness and leadership. The examination committee was established at Jami University in order to organize and coordinate tests and examinations. The examination committee is responsible for holding fair examinations, and for their organization and coordination.
  - Information Technology
    - Technology is a body of knowledge devoted to creating tools, processing actions and the extracting of materials. The term ‘Technology” is wide, and everyone has their way of understanding its meaning. We use technology to accomplish various tasks in our daily lives, in brief; we can describe technology as products and processes used to simplify our daily lives. We use technology to extend our abilities, making people the most crucial part of any technological system.
  - Research
    - The Educational Research Committee plays a profound role in educational institutions. It is considered to be an important part of the university in many countries. The role of the Research Committee is to advise and assist the Chancellor in the leadership and management of research at the university. Its specific responsibility is to advise and assist the Chancellor in the fulfillment of the research aspects of the university Strategic Plan.
  - Appointment & Termination
    - Having talented, capable, efficient, proficient and skillful staff is indispensable to the success of this institution in fulfilling its obligations to its students and to society. In order to achieve those goals, the appointment, promotion and dismissal committee was established at Jami University. The policy of Jami University is to employ and retain distinguished staff with requisite qualifications, commitment and experience. The promotion, demotion, appointment and dismissal process occurs on an annual cycle. The purpose of this policy is to define the criteria for, promotion, appointment renewal and dismissal for the staff.
  - Scholarship & Discount
    - Since its inception, Jami University has been ambitious in creating a level playing field to help students from poor families into higher education. Students from the most disadvantaged backgrounds are half as likely to go to higher education as their more affluent peers, and a quarter as likely to gain a place at the most selective universities.
  - Gender
    - Gender inequality in organizations is a complex phenomenon that can be seen in organizational structures, processes, and practices and it also does exist in academia. The Gender committee was established to advance, promote and protect gender equality and to improve the gender balance in academia. The Committee aims to implement key commitments on gender equality, gender mainstreaming and women’s rights. This includes capacity building for staff and assistance in monitoring progress against gender benchmarks.
